The finer details of Raila’s pact with Uhuru should be made public so that the nation can interrogate it’s merits vis-à-vis it’s demerits, than engage in a wild goose chase we are currently witnessing, where arguments are based on the little tokens of information that has been coming out in irregular installments
The deliberations on Tuesday’s ODM PG are worrying. How can the party unanimously agree to support the government. What do they support? The top notch corruption architected and executed by the incumbent government? Electoral fraud? Massacre of innocent civilians practicing a constitutionally sanctioned and recommended right to protest?
The truce has the blessings of a majority Kenyans as we all yearn for a serene and tranquil environment devoid of tribal charged animosity, the same which cripples economic growth threatens to tear apart the republic. It has come at a moment when talks of secession had gained momentum and it shouldn’t be taken for granted that the protagonists have all embraced the latest development and ready to walk the talk
However the talks should create a platform to solve the underlying issues. To support Jubilee doesn’t solve the corruption, electoral fraud etc. It in fact creates an enabling environment for more of the same crime to happen because as we all know ANC, Wiper and FORD K are all too weak and too unprincipled to have the locus standi to question Jubilee’s corrupt ways
We have had one strong party in the days of KANU and the weakness of such arrangement is well documented
Kenya is doomed if ODM crosses the floor to support Jubilee. ODM should remain intact as an opposition party even as it capitalizes on the newly found truce as a means to achieve the issues outlined as thorny in the face of the country’s democracy and governance
The gains of the talks as summed up by the nation has absolutely nothing for the nation as it is all about the political class. The details of this talk must be made public so that the nation can debate from a point of information
