Uhuru begged me to serve as minister, I rejected- Hon. Martha Karua reveals

Date:

Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has revealed the day she turned down a job offer from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Martha Karua responding to some harsh critics on twitter following her biggest lose at the supreme court, Karua revealed that she turned down Uhuru’s offer to serve as one his cabinet Secretaries back in 2017.

This debate was ignited after Kirinyaga Jubilee Party chairman, Mureithi Kangara, reached out to the president asking him to give Martha Karua a state job.

Mureithi argued that President Uhuru made this in 2017 when he fielded both Governor Anne Mumbi Waiganjo and Martha Karua and promised to offer a job to the loser in that gubernatorial contest.

However Martha Karua seemingly is not ready to take up that job even if it means serving as a Cabinet Secretary in Uhuru’s government.

A section of the online community has applauded the Iron Lady for standing by her principles. One social media user,Benedict Magero, has actually described Martha Karua has a tiger.

This revelation comes a day after she disputed the supreme court ruling in her filed petition where she was challenging Anne Mumbi Waiganjo’s election as Kirinyaga Governor. Through her twitter handle, Martha Karua stated that justice was not served.
