Justice ODUNGA Slaps 3 Lords Of Impunity With A Sh200K Fine, To Be Deducted From Their Salaries

Date:

High Court Judge Justice George Odunga has found that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents that is, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Police Boss Joseph Boinett and Immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa have violated article 10 of the constitution.

Justice Odunga ordered that Sh200,000 to be deducted directly from their salaries but gave no jail term citing limited capacity of the Court.

This seems like a major blow to the Miguna case as the three get away with just a slap on the wrist after flouting court orders.

The Justice expressed concern that it would be an uphill task to arrest the three who are in charge of security and in the given case then it would be prudent for citizens to arrest them but said he did not have such powers.
