Controversial Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi ((ODM) and Kibwezi East MP Jessicah Mbalu (Wiper) have been elected the Chair and Vice Chair of the National Assembly Chairman of Public Accounts Committee.
Hon Wandayi garned 15 votes to defeat Nambale MP hon Sakwa Bunyasi who only polled 3 votes.
PAC is the most powerful parliamentary committee and was a preserve of opposition leaders till after 2002 general election.
Past PAC Chairman include Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Mwai Kibaki, Kijana Wamalwa, Henry Onyancha Obwocha, Omingo Magara, Ababu Namwamba among others.
