Governor Sonko Rescues Six Migori NASA Protestors From Hospital Detention Over Medical Bills

Five NASA protestors who were stranded at St. Joseph Omboo Mission hospital over unpaid bill are now relieved after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko settled their bill amounting to Ksh.263, 341.

The six people who has been identified as Benard Otieno Ojwang,Dave Ouma Okongo,Collins Ochieng ,Jacob Odhiambo ,Hezron Kirongo and Harrison Ochieng has been hospitalized at St. Joseph Omboo Mission hospital from last week Friday when they were shot by the police during the anti-IEBC demonstration in Migori town.

Each of the patients released also received ksh.10, 000 for transport back home from Governor Mike Sonko.

The patients have expressed their gratitude to Sonko and also to Radio Ramogi through which their plight was highlighted.

They appealed to the government to protect the citizen from police brutality saying that it’s unfortunate to attack individuals who are expressing their right as enshrined in the constitution.

The six patients are among the over 15 people that were shot by the police during last Friday’s anti-IEBC demonstration in Migori town that also left one person dead.
