Trouble started when the Mbita ODM MP criticized Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for clearing medical bills for six victims of police brutality in Migori County
A caller who identified himself as a NASA supporter from Migori County hit out at Millie and other NASA leaders from Nyanza region for neglecting their supporters who remained stranded in hospitals due to failure to clear pending medical bills.
Sonko’s decision to clear medical bills for survivors of police brutality in Migori was also met with criticism from Migori politicians including Uriri MP Mark Nyamita who dismissed Sonko’s assistance, asan “insult” to the victims.
Sonko cleared the arrears for all the five patients who had been detained at St Joseph Ombo Mission Hospital after they failed to raise close to Sh270, 000.
The five sustained serious gunshot wounds and soft tissue injuries from beatings by police in chaos that broke out after the repeat presidential poll last Friday.
