NASA supreme leader Raila Odinga today paid former president Moi a courtesy visit being the first Kenyan political dignitary to visit Kenya’s second president after his hospitalization in Israel.
Raila Odinga was accompanied by Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharriff Nassir. He then proceeded to a closed door meeting with the former president. The contents of the meeting were however not disclosed to the media.
Speculations are that the purpose of the meeting is to cement the Uhuru-Raila handshake. The handshake just reinstated the legacy of the three families and that the meeting between Raila Odinga and Moi are an affirmation that Raila’s position will not be assumed and will be respected. They termed it as a visit to make a political statement and that nothing affecting Kenyans was discussed.
