County commissioner’s house burnt to ashes in Homa-bay

Blames have shifted to Governor Awiti led administration for lack of fire fighting engines as Property worth millions of shillings was Sunday evening destroyed in a fire that broke out at the residence of Homa Bay County Commissioner Harman Shambi in Homa Bay town.

The fire, whose cause could not be immediately established, started from one of the rooms at around 6:30pm.

The county commissioner and his family members including children were in the house during the incident.

Mr. Shambi said no one was injured in the huge inferno that razed down everything in the house. No property was salvaged.

Investigations have since been launched into the cause of the fire.
The residence on the county commisioner is 2 minutes walk to the governor’s office.
