Raila big win as DP Ruto allies vow to attend all BBI rallies

Date:

The Majority Leader of the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen, has accused the BBI team of having a committee with hidden draft report and bill.

In a Press conference alongside Susan Kihika (Nakuru Senator); Moses Kuria (Gatundu South MP); Alice Wahome (Kandara MP) and other lawmakers; Murkomen announced that they would organize rallies across the country starting with Mombasa this weekend.

He noted that he and his counterparts support the BBI report as was launched and will mobilize their constituents to present their views.

“To this end we demand that the entire BBI process be driven in an open and transparent manner by the gazetted committee,” he said.

He further reiterated DP William Ruto’s sentiments that public funds should not be used to organize BBI rallies unless appropriated by parliament or county assemblies.

“Our participation & organization of BBI rallies shall be through personal contributions,” he reiterated.

The Dp Ruto allied leaders condemned the recently concluded BBI rallies terming them as political.

“To our utter disappointment, at recent public rallies in Kisii and Kakamega leaders resorted to the very callous tactics rejected by the BBI report, backsliding into the reviled old order that Kenyans are running away from,” said Murkomen on Tuesday.
