Co-operative Bank Awards Full Scholarships to 655 Needy Students

Date:

The Co-operative Bank Foundation has awarded full high school scholarships to 655 students from across the country. These are bright learners who performed well in their KCPE exams but faced challenges paying school fees.

During the induction event, parents, guardians, and bank staff came together to celebrate this milestone. The beneficiaries were introduced to a mentorship program that will guide them through their secondary education journey.

Since the scholarship program began, more than 11,000 students have received support. Over 90% of them have moved on to university or other tertiary institutions.

Co-op Bank says this initiative is about more than fees. It’s about building a future generation that can shape Kenya through education.

By focusing on youth from poor backgrounds, the bank is giving a lifeline to students who might have dropped out due to lack of fees.

How many talented children do you know who are stuck because of poverty?

This program proves that when businesses invest in education, the impact goes far beyond profits. Lives are changed. Families are uplifted. Communities grow.

The Co-operative Bank Foundation runs this initiative with support from the wider Co-op Bank network and its partners in the co-operative movement.

The bank is urging more stakeholders to join in supporting students who have the potential but lack resources. It’s a call to action for all who believe in the power of education.
