BREAKING: Uganda Opposition Leader Kizza Bisigye ARRESTED for saying RIGGING was UNDERWAY

Uganda Opposition leader Kizza Besigye has been arrested as he joined his supporters to stormed a house in Naguru, a Kampala upscale suburb arguing that there is alleged vote rigging taking place.

“I can confirm he has been arrested,” Ingrid Turinawe, an official from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party told Reuters. The police did not make an immediate comment.

The arrest has fuelled tension especially in Opposition strongholds including the capital Kampala

Besigye, who has been regularly arrested, was briefly detained on Monday, triggering clashes between his supporters and officers in riot gear. One person was killed and 19 others injured.

Earlier in the day the popular leader cast his vote.

Voting was massively delayed in opposition stronghold. The government agency in charge of communication had shut down leading social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.
