DP Ruto has camped in Kericho dishing goodies and also reinforcing his ‘TUMETENGA’ message in a bid to close-in on Hon Paul Sang the KANU candidate in the upcoming senate race. The DP is leading a high powered campaign team in a do or die contest.
The KANU candidate the former Cabinet Minister for Health Hon Paul Sang leads in five of the county’s six constituencies while Jubilee’s Aaron Cheruiyot leads only in his mother’s home constituency of Belgut (Aaron is a nephew to Energy CS Charles Keter, the immediate senator)
The DP has spent considerable amount of energy in what was supposed to be a walk in park raising questions if Jubilee’s hold on Rift Valley has crumbled. Finally the temperatures seem to cool down as moves into action.
DP Ruto has covered considerable ground. It will be a close one, in favour of KANU Isaiah Langat a local political analyst told this writer
Meanwhile rumour has that President Uhuru and his allies are heavily funding the KANU candidate.
