Uhuru is upto something that’s not very good. As I write this piece, Uhuru has just ordered 10,000 policemen hired. As 2017 approaches, its evident that Kenya’s court imposed president Uhuru Kenyatta is increasingly importing police military hardware, in what analysts believe is an attempt to hold on to power “by all means necessary”. However students of recent African history ought to know that Gbagbo tried the same tactics and failed. All Raila will need in 2017, is the slightest of evidence that rigging has happened.
Uhuru rather than sit down with the opposition and discuss the way forward in reforming the judiciary, and reconstitute the IEBC to be responsive to the 21st C electoral challenges, Uhuru is preparing for how to deal with the aftermath of a flawed process. And I bet you, Uhuru will call for National Dialogue, but it will be too late. It will be at that point where, he will be due for going home. Kenyans have given him the message that they are fed up, but he continues to be under the notion that he is popular, time is coming when he will respond to us, you wait and see. He will feel our suffering, he will hear our cries. But that will be too late.
The ways in which he has embarked on preparing for the subversion of the will of the Kenyan people include but not limited to:
One, he has ordered the recruitment of 10,000 policemen. These new ones are specifically trained to clobber wananchi who will demonstrate to complained about any electoral malpractices.
Add to that about 100,000 NYS youth, trained in paramilitary hand to hand combat, and you have a citizenry staring at being subdued by the state.
The NYS was intended to be at the heart of Uhuru’s 2017 agenda, to create the impression of youth employment. Sicily Kariuki went around Malindi picking youth. And the calculus is that they will vote for Jubilee. 7500 youths are enough to tilt the scales. That’s rigging 101, actually bribery since a quid pro quo relationship exists. I take u to NSIS on condition that you will vote Jubilee in Malindi. Lets see if Sicilly Kariuki will be dragged through mud for voter bribery like Wetangula was. Sicily Kariuki has broken the law. She is a Waiguru puppet placed there so Waiguru can continue to pull strings from behind. NYS youth from Coast have been placed on the ground with sole detail to clobber wananchi, pull down CORD placards/billboards, and launch a massive door to door campaign. However the gap between Cord and Jubilee is so large, no amount of rigging and intimidation will suffice.
Thirdly, he has embarked on a systematic fundraising for 2017. Uhuru and Ruto are the epicenters of these scandals that keep popping up, left, right and center. With NSIS, Uhuru has the means to know all the scandals in each ministry at the touch of a button. If u exchange bags of cash at a basement parking lot, Uhuru knows it all. NSIS briefs him every morning.
NSIS collects all the trash about MPs, CSs, and politicians, so as to blackmail them at the opportune time. So Uhuru knew more than is contained in those affidavits. Yet he goes to Israel and pretends that all Kenyans, apart from him are thieves. I lost respect for Uhuru, the moment he refused to hand back Jomo’s stolen inheritance to the exchequer.
Uhuru has every reason to panick ahead of 2017, and has given up on planning for winning genuine votes, and has resorted to preparing for a massive rigging operation ahead of 2017.
Jubilee is so scared that after camping in Mombasa, he headed back to his only assured vote basket of Central Kenya, to urge his people to register en masse. With a resurgent Cord leader every vote is gonna count.
Signs are everywhere, to the extent that Ruto was embarrassed when he went to Malava with his moneybags to fill up brown envelopes, and yet MPs preferred a humble Oparanya event to one hosted by the DP. And that’s natural human instinct. That everyone wants to be on the winning team. Oparanya is poised to be a key player in a Raila led administration and its natural for Western MPs to angle themselves for the future, so hopefully they can get a CORD ticket, which will be a must have to win a seat in Western. And so as 2017 approaches, and as pollsters get bolder to publish poll results, its going to get clearer that Raila is in this game to win, with a gap large enough to ward off any rigging.
And Uhuru, will grow even more desperate, and will pluck all the cards from the Museveni playbook of rigging elections. The police vehicles Kenya imported came around the same time Museveni ones arrives, and from the same manufacturer which means they may have “pooled resources together” to get a better discount. Some people in Uganda and Kenya must have pocketed huge discounts.
