Mlimani Magistrate court has ordered release of SONU Chief and Embakasi MP aspirant Hon Babu Owino on bail pending his plea.
Babu Owino was arrested together with the 8 members of parliament on alleged hate speech. Hon Owino was represented in court by ODM lead lawyer Edwin Sifuna. In court were a few ODM supporters led by bad ass blogger Seth Odongo aka Dekembe Disembe.
“I am not convinced prosecution has proved existence of any convincing reason to deny accused bail” said Magistrate on ordering release of Babu Owino on bail.
The ruling by the magistrate comes barely two hours after premier Raila Odinga, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Senate Minority leader Moses Wetangula demanded release of all both CORD and Jubilee leaders arrested two days ago over alleged hate speech.
Whereas majority of Kenyans had demanded for immediate arrest and prosecution of Messirs Moses Kuria , Ferdinard Waititu and Kimani Ngunjiri the state in an effort to cleanse the three and divert attention from raging IEBC debate and massive corruption in government moved and arrested CORD MPs who had ironically urged for serious action against Moses Kuria.
