Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa’s attempt to seek for recognition and possible “endorsement” by President Uhuru Kenyatta suffered a major blow on Sunday, in a high drama that saw the CS and his entourage humiliated twice at a church function in Karen.
This is after President Uhuru who now doubles as Jubilee Party leader dodged Eugene together with his new “love” Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. The self declared glory holder has declared she’s ready to be Eugene’s running mate in the 2017 Nairobi gubernatorial race. Meanwhile CS Wamalwa has been declared persona non gratta in his Sabaot Constituency in Trans Nzoia County.
Eugene started his day on a positive note at the Jesus is Alive Ministries where he managed to convince Nairobi political reject Bishop Wanjiru to abandon her Gubernatorial bid and support him. After the Sunday service Eugene, Bishop Wanjiru, her son who is the outgoing Mathare MP Steve Kariuki, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh and her alleged boyfriend nominated TNA nominated MCA Mark Ndung’u rushed to Karen where the President was opening the new Faith Evangelistic Ministries Family Church.
However the President who was in the company of renowned German evangelist Rev Reinhard Bonnke and Rev Wanjiru snubbed Eugene’s team after opening the new Church. Attempts by the under-performing CS to be allocated a seat next to the President were also thwarted after the President reportedly told his protocol team not to give Eugene and Bishop Wanjiru seats in the front row.
After the President snubbed them inside the Church the Eugene team rushed outside the Church to pose for a photo with the President but to their shock Kenyatta dodged them and rushed back to State House.
Project Eugene has failed to take off after City politicians led by Starehe MP Maina Kamanda told off Deputy President William Ruto over his alleged plan to endorse the CS in the Nairobi Governors race. Eugene will face off with flamboyant Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoreti South MP Dennis Waweru and TNA Chairman Johnstone Sakaja for the Nairobi Jubilee ticket with President Uhuru expected to keep off from endorsing any of the aspirants.
