ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga was forced to hijack the funeral program at former Heritage minister William Ole Ntimama funeral to overcome Jubilee political treachery and shenanigans. Premier Raila was given only a minute to say ‘pole’ but he would have none of it insisting Ntimama was his friend and an ODM maestro.
Raila also used his slot to call Ntimama’s close allies who served together as ministers under Moi and Kibaki/Raila regimres Wetang’ula, Mudavadi, and Kalonzo to address the mourners. None of these CORD leaders were scheduled to speak as Jubilee was intent on controlling the program to avoid embarrassing the President.
Raila’s arrival, only minutes apart from Uhuru, clearly upstaged that of President given the level of cheering and war cries that received the ODM party leader. There was palpable tension from then on. The event was live in all channels and there was possibility of an embarrassing exposure by CORD leaders who all held senior positions in last government together with the late Ntimama who DP Ruto had insulted so many times in the past.
What was telling is that ANC leader Mudavadi is clearly now part of an expanded CORD coalition. Future prime minister or Nairobi Governor perhaps? Time will tell!
Odinga then went on to give Majority Leader a dressing down on the TJRC report which Hon Duale had lied was still being debated by parliament five years after Raila and Kibaki received it.
In his remarks, Raila forced Uhuru into a corner, until like Disciple Peter who denied Jesus three times, Uhuru denied Ruto when insisted Jubilee had only one hand which was not persecuting Maasai people living downstream Mara river.
DP Ruto skipped the funeral altogether to avoid the wrath of Morans who kept vigil outside the VIP tent a confirmation that he has lost his alleged grip on Rift Valley.
Raila then showered the late Ole Ntimama with praises concluding that Ntimama would be buried in a casket draped in ODM flag. There was no way a non-existent party like JP would dispute that!
