Deputy President William Samoei Ruto who rarely responds to allegations on him has taken to twitter to dismiss claims that he has neglected a child he sired outside marriage.
The minor’s mother, Prisca Chemutai Bett, in court filings claims the top politician is not catering for the child, whose psychological and emotional development has been affected.
A source privy to the affair between the DP and Prisca told Kenya Today the two met in Eldoret during the ODM referendum campaigns.
The child was born in 2006 and Ruto has been taking care of her, informally.
The current case is that Prisca wants the DP to treat the girl as part of his children and recognize her as such.
On Twitter, Ruto posted, “My 11 year old child Abby is well catered for including her education in a private boarding school. Politicians and busybodies should keep off”.
