The Youth of Kenya: Say Something, do something for justice in this election. Do something with your lives as Jubilee riggers prepare to drag us back to the dark days. Here is what others said and did in history.
“Give me Liberty or give me death” That is what an American youth and leader called Patrick Henry told the British Colonialists at 29.
“Liberation anywhere leads to liberation everywhere” That’s Che quevara an Argentinian. He joined the Cubans and shot his way to power at 28 (thereabout). He joined the Congolese under Laurent Kabila and Mulele among other countries. He was shot by Sargent Mario in Colombia
“It”s better to die fighting than live on your knees” Kenya’s first Prime Minister, the youthful Dedan Kimathi headquartered in Mt Kenya. He did not preach peace in the face of oppression. He preached justice and died working for it.
“You are jailing me for 10 years. Am young enough. I will be back to carry on from where I left” Founding SONU chairman the late Titus Adungosi told his jailers at 24 for supporting the 1982 coup to restore multi-party politics in Kenya.
“All my life, I Have fought for an equitable society…..It is an ideal for which, if need be, I am prepared to die” (check accuracy) the youthful Nelson Mandela launching the race for nonracist south African.
