Probably the only thing a young Luo/Luhya can do in Kenya’s political infrastructure is either to be a BLOGGER, a PHOTOGRAPHER, HECKLER or a HIRELING sent to FUNERALS.
To other regions (Mt. Kenya, Rift Valley), they’re already planning to rule others ahead of time through proper mentorship.
It will take a miracle for a Luo who schooled with the likes of Zack like I, Wambui Nyutu who is now a Commissioner or Irene Kendi who is in a senior position at the ministry of public service plus others; all held, mentored and helped by their regional henchmen and power oligarchy onto the high table of bargain to compete.
Someone may wonder if the group of Silas Jakakimba, Oyola and their peers can’t qualify even for a board in charge of fish coitus, who are we!
Thanks to our self-centred, less visionary, technically incapacitated, jealous leaders who should be taking advantage of Tinga and his influence to push for the security of the future of our people!
If there is one Leader I respect from Luoland apart from Tinga is the former Rangwe MP, Hon. Okundi.
When he got appointed at the Port of Mombasa, he made sure that today, Luos in Mombasa can control Nyali, Mvita, Kisauni & Likoni to a great extent. Others are the late Ojode, PS Oyugi Ogango.
As a young professional, educated by my community; I believe that politics is a game of interest for today and tomorrow.
It is immoral for our leaders to hold harambees, issue bursaries and a few scholarships to our young people only to turn them into bloggers, hecklers, photographers and funeral hirelings to take a few selfies with them or drink alcohol to show achievements upon graduation.
It is only in Luo offices where you will be sent to go and do masters or PhD for you to get any chance as they issue the same chances to their sex and drinking mates from other regions. Atwara mimiyo tije gi to kata mana graduation pok gitimo, moko jokuoge.
