CONFIDENT Mike Sonko DEFENDS Hon Peter Kenneth aka ‘SPOILLER’ over decision run as INDEPENDENT says its PK’s democratic Right

Date:

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has welcomed the entry of Peter Kenneth as an independent candidate in the Nairobi governor’s seat race.

Speaking during a walk in the City’s Central Business District, Sonko who defeated Kenneth in the Jubilee nominations said he’s ready to face the former failed presidential candidate again in the ballot on the 8th of August.

Meanwhile Sonko’s running mate Polycarp Igathe has called upon the business community to support their bid saying it represents a reform agenda for the city.
Speaking after a meeting with business and corporate leaders largely drawn from Nairobi, Igathe said his alliance with Sonko is focused on delivering a clean and secure city where businesses will thrive.

“What we’re a looking for in Nairobi is geometric progression not arithmetic progression. We’re looking for a real deep change not only of the hardware but also the software,” Igathe said adding that “one cannot change the city by trying to recycle somebody who was here before or ideas that were in the past.”

“Here is a team that has bandwidth, Mike Mbuvi Sonko brings political bandwidth, Polycarp Igathe bring commercial and managerial bandwidth. Who can beat such a team?” Igathe remarked.

Once elected, Igathe said, the Sonko administration will undertake surgical changes aimed at rooting out corruption and incompetence at City Hall while working on restoring the city’s glory.

Meanwhile top political pundit Arap Doyo had this to say about Kenneth ‘s move:

“Whoever is advising Peter Kenneth…SMH

The loss that shall hit him in August will be the final nail in his political coffin.

Game yake ilipangwa ikapangika. He’s realizing it a lil bit too late it seems. (I have posted a detailed article on this wall before attempting to argue out how he was rendered politically infertile)

He would have stood a chance if he walked the independent path from the beginning when he still had some ‘clean reputation’ and a favorable perception among the voters. Convincingly, he would have been be a third force candidate. And a horse in the race.

Not now.”
