Latest breaking news indicate that another corporate titan Lawyer Karanja Kabage died on Friday night following a tragic road accident in Karen, Nairobi. Sources quoting family and friends confirmed the sad news.
On Thursday Kabage joined other Kenyans in celebrating the life of former Safaricom CEO the late Bob Collymore, at the memorial service Kabage had pleasantries with the who is who in Kenya’s ruling class.
Kabage is a corporate titan especially in matters Insurance. His firm owned the defunct Kenya Bus service company, he studied law later in life and seems to love it. He frequents Kilimani law courts where he litigates mostly commercial law.
He was a core member of the Mt Kenya mafia club that funded president Kibaki and Uhuru Jubilee coalition and also partcipated in initiaves like the Kenya Private Sector Alliance.

Mr Kabage is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society, International Bar Association and Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
In the past, he has held positions in Public Institutions. He was appointed the first Chairman of the Communications Authority of Kenya, Board Member of National Oil Corporation of Kenya, Commissioner of Energy Regulatory Commission, Board Member of National Social Security Fund, and a founder member of Nuclear Electricity Project Committee, the forerunner of the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board.
Mr Kabage has also served and held key positions in the Private Sector as Chairman of the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), Chairman Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Board Member of East African Business Council. He is currently a Board Member of African Reinsurance Corporation, which is the leading Reinsurance Company in Africa with its Headquarters in Nigeria.
Mr Kabage’s specialization and focus is in International Trade & Investment law, Intellectual Property Rights, International Commercial Arbitration, Insurance Law and Practice, Energy Law with particular bias for Nuclear Technology application in generation of Electricity and Constitutional Law. He is the Senior Partner of the EKN LLP Advocates with responsibility for networking and practice development.
He is a holder of BSc and MBA (USIU), LLB and LLM (University of Nairobi). He is a Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), a Patent Agent with Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI). He holds an International Nuclear Law Diploma from University of Montpellier, France. He has a passion for professional advancement and education.
