A little-known construction company Debroso Construction Company Ltd has been awarded a Sh1 billion contract to maintain a section of the Nairobi- Thika Highway.. At a cost of 1billion, it will maintain Nairobi Ruiru section for 2yrs!
Documents that i have seen indicate that Debroso Construction Company Ltd that has just been awarded a Sh1billion contract to maintain Thika Road from Nairobi to Ruiru at a cost of 1billion does not even QUALIFY to be AWARDED A KSH1Billion Tender. The company has no CAPACITY!
Sources within Debroso indicate that Debroso Construction Company Ltd was registered in 2013 and has never even submitted tax that is more than Ksh60million all the years combined. But mysteriously it has been awarded Thika Highway Maintenance tender of ksh1billion!
The following roads in Kenya: Kericho — Kaplong, Kitale — Sibanga — Kachibora and Meru- Kangeta-Laari- Mutuati — Kamweline are being maintained at a cost of Sh1.6 million for every kilometre per year.
The Bondo — Usenge — Osieko road spans 33.4 kilometres is being maintained at a cost of KSh5.8 million per kilometre per year. The maintainance at this cost goes on till 2021. The total cost will be kSh583. We maintain expensively!
