A reliable source inside Statehouse has hinted that Uhuru Kenyatta is set to expand the presidency by the establishing a powerful presidential advisory council “politburo” whose consultative decisions become the non binding policy position for Uhuru and will be rubber stamped by the Cabinet. Chaired by former prime minister Raila Odinga and membership will comprise key eminent leaders Uhuru’s close ally and Baringo Central senator Hon Gideon Moi (Deputy), former VPs H E Musalia Mudavadi, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho, Super CS Fred Matiang’i is tagged to be the Secretary.
Raila and Uhuru will be joint chair persons to oversee the council, which will be operating within the confines of an expanded presidency.
Statehouse operatives behind the council hope that upon its fully rollout it will pave way for the reorganization of parliamentary leadership, and will allow president Uhuru to carry on his duties as if Ruto doesn’t exist now that he is a rebel opposing war against corruption, he (Ruto) will be given space to make noise as much as he wants. The politburo doesn’t require constitutional amendment or a statute since the president is constitutionally at Liberty to appoint anybody or entity or whomever he so whimsically pleases as advisor
It is expected that a new parliamentary leadership will be constituted that excludes loud mouth Aden Duale, Uhuru will then carry out the much a waited reorganization of his cabinet, to reflect the political reality that would ensue. This arrangement, ladies and gentlemen is a viable stopgap measure which would serve to fast track the consultative processes and guarantee peace, stability & national unity as constitutional amendments are being carried out.
