Nyali MP Aspirant Mohammed Ali accused President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee regime of persecuting the Muslim community in Kenya.
The celebrated investigative journalist, currently vying for Nyali constituency parliamentary seat in Mombasa County was speaking at a NASA rally in Wajir County yesterday.
Formerly of the investigative TV series Jicho Pevu, Ali told the huge jubilant crowd composed of predominantly Muslim Somali’s that it is high time they stop listening to Jubilee lies and termed the ruling Alliance an enemy of Muslims.
“Muslims are being killed in this region and the coast, many disappear without trace and our sistersand mothers are made widows. This is a regime that is waging a silent war against our people. We should endeavour to stop them and the only way to do so is by voting them out on August the 8th,” he said as loud chants of “Ali, Ali, Ali” rented the air.
Ali went on to state that once NASA comes to power, all those who connived in incarcerating innocent Kenyan Somalis at Kasarani will face justice.
He also emphasised that Jubilee’s targeting of Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho is in line with their agenda against Muslims and their leaders.
“It is high time Muslims shun Jubilee for all the ills committed against our people…and still on-going as we speak. The few Muslim leaders on their side are self-seekers who are only interested in their own selfish gains,” he said.
Speaking at the same rally, most NASA leaders in attendance backed the sentiments of the young Nyali Parliamentary seat aspirant.
Balambala MP Hon. Abdikadirr Omar Adan said Mandera County voted overwhelmingly for Jubilee Alliance but its residents are still under the barbaric curfew imposed on them by the same people they elected.
“Muslims and especially the people of North Eastern should wake up from their deep slumber and vote for those who will value and emancipate them from these barbarism,” he said.
Mombasa County Woman Rep Hon. Mishi Mboko said the State’s open persecution of Governor Joho will never yield any results but will instead idolize him across the country. She accused Jubilee regime of intentionally denying Muslims ID cards and other important national documents.
NASA luminary and ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga stated that North Eastern province is evidently the most affected region in terms of injustice and persecution meted against its residents by successive regimes.
“No part of the country has experienced injustice more than this region. Wagalla massacre was the epitome of this injustice. It’s unfortunate that killings and forced disappearances are still on-going. Jubilee is sitting on the TJRC report that would have compensated the Wagalla massacre victims. I want to state it here that once elected, NASA will immediately implement the report,” he said.
All the four NASA stalwarts alongside a number of senators, MPs, Mombasa Governor Joho and many aspirants from Wajir County graced the highly publicised rally held yesterday at Wajir Stadium.
