Kiambu governor Hon William Kabogo and Nairobi senator Mike Sonko led several Mt Kenya MPs and opinion leaders in telling off DP William Ruto over his push to have Water CS Eugene Wamalwa to be Jubilee candidate for Nairobi governor race.
The leaders who lead the much publicised Ruiru declaration said Nairobi residents has a right to elect a governor and other leaders of their choice and they do not expect outsiders to dictate who the governor will be.
Mike Sonko was on a revenge mission on his one time ally Kabete MP Ferdinard Waititu who led a few mt Kenya MPs supporting CS Eugene Wamalwa. Waititu will be seeking to dethrone Kabogo as Kiambu governor.
