Man City is a small team without any pedigree. They are coached by a manager who, unlike Mourinho for instance has never taken a small team like Porto, to the pinnacle of Europe!
The noisy United neighbour might win the EPL this season. It’s not a big deal, they have won it, I think twice before but they still can’t get out of the shadows of their more storied and Decorated Multi award winning neighbour.
Granted, City seems to be galloping towards the title but they haven’t been so convincing. They spoilt my first visit to London about a month ago when they beat a tired Chelsea by a solitary goal. Chelsea had just returned from a 5000 mile duty in the UCL around Europe and had hardly rested or shaken off the jet lag when city came along. If they were worth all the hype, they should have beaten a vulnerable and tired Chelsea by at least some five goals! But Chelsea stood proud and resolute!
United missed Pogba and it showed. Against Arsenal, they scored an offside goal and I think a penalty which was not there. Spurs was just pathetic, cowardly and clueless! City has been unconvincing against some small sides I forget. City isn’t the dominant side that we have seen in other sides like United and Chelsea before.
The 11 point gap is flattering and may soon dissipate altogether.
Guardiola has only been at Barca, Munich and City to manage ready made expensively assembled sides. He has not been tested as say Mourinho or the great sir Alex Ferguson. He may win this season but that is probably the only feat he may attain over three years and then may be, he will look for another rich club. Sadly, they aren’t many remaining around and he might retire early, resign to coach his national team or destroy his fraudulent legacy in the ignominy of some small team somewhere if PSG doesn’t give him the next opportunity.
Elmard should know that City is a wee club we don’t want to talk about and the lesser he shouts about it, the better for the peace of everyone else!
