-“My issue is that the unity being pushed by the President and the former Prime Minister is marred with a lot of insincerity. Instead of building bridges, it appears some sections are stonewalling and building dams,” Ngunjiri said.
Barely a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta cautioned Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri against insulting him, the vocal lawmaker has returned a rather chilling message to the president. Ngunjiri who has been at hoodwinks with Uhuru rubbished Uhuru’s warning as mere threats aimed at silencing him.
Addressing the press on Wednesday, January 29, Ngunjiri accused Uhuru of disrespecting him by staging a rally near his homestead to castigate him in presence of close family members including children. “A whole President, surely, he was coming here to incite people of Bahati, coming telling people kimundu giki (this person), I am Kimani Ngunjiri and he knows my name…coming all the way to my gate, my gate of home, where my wife and children are,” said the MP.
The outspoken MP claimed the president did not have any agenda in Nakuru rather than attacking and threatening him at the expense of myriad issues affecting Kenyans.
“He did not come to open any projects. He just came all the way to attack and undermine me. I was shocked by the words he used before my family,” he claimed.
Ngunjiri said he has never disrespected the president but has only been challenging him to accomplish the promises he made to the people of Bahati and Kenya at large.
“He did not talk about four dams he promised the people of Bahati. He never talked about security issues yet people are being terrorised by criminals,” charged the lawmaker.
