What I find outrageous is the list of political fraudsters being lined up as potential beneficiaries of a “Mr X tosha” declaration by Raila.
Raila Odinga owes no any living or dead politician in Kenya any political debt and he must therefore not be pushed by anyone to reciprocate anything .If my history serves me right,then all these political fraudsters imagining that Raila is so much indebted to them are the ones who either by choice or by public and political pressure, have been finding themselves angling towards Raila Odinga and not the other way round.Let nobody therefore imagine that Raila owes them anything.
If there are people Raila remains heavily indebted to politically, then it’s the Luo people,a larger section of Luhyia people save for the Bukusus of Bungoma and the Coastal communities who have through thick and thin stuck with him and remained loyal to him throughout his tumultuous over 20 years of a political journey.
The Kalenjins may also lay some claim to some debt following the crucial political support they accorded him in 2007 that earned him the premiership before being carted away by William Ruto.If there must be any demand for political reciprocations,then such demands must originate directly from these voters in these regions.
As to whether the reciprocation should be done through these communities’ political leaders,then such leaders must first get universal endorsements from their people and not just through self endorsements;If it’s Mudavadi, let him first rally the entire Luhyia nation behind him and if it’s Wetangula or Kalonzo, let each one of them explain to us what it is exactly that Raila owes them politically.
If Raila must endorse anyone for the presidency in 2017,let it be someone with proven political mettle and not just these noisy opportunists I see around here. As things currently stand,the only person who merits an endorsement from Raila is William Ruto. In the unlikely scenario that he changes his mind and thinks about contesting in 2017,then Raila and his followers should throw their weight behind him. He’s the only person currently with the capacity to thrash Uhuru Kenyatta in an election and unlike Raila,get himself sworn into office.
If Ruto decides to remain loyal and contented with his 2022 delusions, then Raila shall have done us a great favour if he ignores the opportunists poaches for a fresh,youthful and energetic pair from the pool of rising political stars this other side and throws his weight behind them
