South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has asked deputy president William Duto to stop ‘pride and thinking that he has become the Kalenjin’s god’.
Speaking in Bomet on Saturday during the launch of governor Isaac Ruto’s new party-CCM, the parliamentarian told off deputy president over his ‘dictatorial’ tendency adding that Chama Cha Mashinani will give aspirants a chance to run for seats without begging for DP’s endorsement.
“Nataka kumwambia William Ruto aache kiburi na kufikiria yeye ni mungu wa Wakalenjin ( I want to tell William Ruto to stop pride and thinkimg that he is kalenjin god),” he said.
He added: “I must applaud the party leader for opening this office as it guarantees that every political aspirant here has a right to use the party without looking up to someone or travel to Sugoi for an endorsement. In a democratic world, endorsement lies in the hands of the electorates.”
Bomet county boss, Isaac Ruto launched the new political party following a fallout with William Ruto.
Rutto declined to join new merger, Jubilee party.
