”Uhuru already SHORTCHANGED DP Ruto on 2022 Bid”- Hon Cheruiyot

Date:

President Uhuru Kenyatta has already shortchanged DP William Ruto ahead of his 2022 presidential bid, Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has said.

The legislator questioned Uhuru’s signing of an MoU with six different political outfits, including Gideon Moi’s Kanu, in the absence of DP Ruto.

“We have been questioning how and why URP was dissolved. We thought they didn’t want other parties but we saw Uhuru engaging some,” he said on Monday.

Cheruiyot added that Ruto’s journey to State House is a nightmare and that Jubilee Party has already prepared a different successor.

“When we realised things were changing, we formed our own party called Chama Cha Mashinani ” he told his constituents.

CCM is led by Bomet Governor Issac Rutto, who joined the National Super Alliance as its fifth principal.

After negotiations between the Moi and Kenyatta families, Uhuru promised Kanu Cabinet, parastatal and diplomatic slots in the event he wins the August 8 poll.

Cheruiyot is among Rift Valley leaders who bolted out of Jubilee citing feuds with the DP after the 2013 elections.

His sentiments came in the face of renewed fights between Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

While launching his campaigns at Kabimoi, Gideon announced that he will be in the presidential race in 2022.

The Senator claimed that Ruto was conspiring for his downfall and asked his supporters not to sway them into “castrating your own bull”.
