Prime Minister Raila Odinga paid his respects to the fallen former president Daniel Arap Moi whose body is lying in state at the National Assembly (Parliament).
After viewing the body, the supreme leader had a chat with Mzee Moi’s sons Hon Raymond Moi who is also the Rongai MP and Gideon Moi who is the Baringo County Senator,the conversation was caught by a KTN mic thus revealing an otherwise a private converation.
In the conversation it become clear that Raila was very close to the Moi family, it emerged that Gideon has been briefing both Raila and Uhuru on Mzee’s condition while at Nairobi hospital’s ICU. Raila confirmed the last update was three weeks ago when he was travelling to Kakamega for the BBI meeting, at the time Mzee was critical and Gideon had informed him that there were specialist doctors who were flying in from Germany to attend to Mzee.
Raila also revealed that while in Addis, the president had asked him to check with other heads of state and governments if they can join at the memorial service, he confirmed several about 10 of the will come or send their representatives.
The chat indeed confirmed Raila is in deep state, he was very close to Mzee Moi and also he is very close to president Uhuru, leaving Uhuru with his pesa nane handlers making primitive noise all over…
Meanwhile Gideon seems to have relinquished his family spokesman role to his older brother Raymond who for most part of the past days has been taking the lead is hosting visitors and also talking on behalf of the family. If you remember events at Kabarnet gardens and now at Parliament buildings it is Raymond who is hosting relegating Gideon to a back up role. many say this is the best way to deal with DP Ruto propaganda so that if he is sidelined by the state he will not blame Gideon.
