Whenever the general population gets tired of status quo, cartels, dynasties – they usually go to the extreme.
Europe has seen some of the craziest people elected to power in the past 7 years. Le Pen, an open racist missed being French President by a whisker, and only because her challenger was another maverick.
With cartels taking over everything from power generation- leading to high electricity bills, agriculture sector – with cartels controlling maize and sugar importation – leading to losses to farmers , with cartels controlling the health sector – making public health very poor and private health services expensive…… I fear that Kenya may get a shock in 2022.
I suspect Mike Sonko will be that shocker.
Sonko is slowly building alliances with old hands like Kalonzo, Raila and other retiring politicians. He is also continuing with his populist PR cash dishing stunts.
With a population of majority voters born in the 1990s – I fully suspect that we will see a huge shocker in 2022 if the murmurs and discontent is anything to go by.
