Dozens of Rift Valley leaders are currently meeting at Gideon Moi’s Kabarak home where they are expected to issue a statement on future political realignments.
The leaders started trickling to the historic compound at around 11am and were ushered in by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, who is keen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to KANU youth chairman Kipchumba Rono, the leaders will issue a statement shortly after discussions, with politics set to dominate.
The meeting comes few days after ODM leader Raila Odinga hosted former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, whose silence in recent days has raised eyebrows.
Governor Ruto, who had been accompanied by former ministers Franklin Bett, Paul Sang and Zakayo Cheruiyot, termed the Capitol Hill meeting ‘consultative’.
Besides the four, former leaders Zipporah Kittony, Musa Sirma, Nick Salat, MPs Silas Tiren, William Kamket among others, attended the meeting.
Isaac Ruto is silently revamping Chama Cha Mashinani and is closely working with Senator Moi of KANU in an attempt to dislodge DP William Ruto as Rift Valley kingpin.
Mr Ruto managed to poach businessman Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki from DP William Ruto’s camp recently. He was installed Secretary General of CCM.
Deputy President William Ruto has often accused his Rift Valley critics of unfair politics, arguing that they should support his bid since he supported retired President Daniel Moi.
