Ok. Let’s assume it’s a done deal. So you get your ballot paper, find this name; Hon. Martha Karua – senator CORD.
Before you Mark your ballot paper, the events at KICC in 2007 are rekindled in your mind. You see a parked hall. Orengo surges forward shouting “Mr. Chairman! Mr. Chairman”! GSU blocks Orengo. Mr. Kivuitu continues to read doctored results from Tharaka Nithi.
A voice from among the audience shouts,” Mr. Chairman you’ll make this country burn”! Kivuitu responds, “I’m ready to burn with it”! He then goes ahead to read Tharaka Nithi results.
Raila is among the audience, gloomy, Balala is there, Ruto is there, Nyaga is there, you also see Ngilu; no traces of Kalonzo Musyoka despite the heightened tension (he’s perhaps negotiating for vice presidency with PNU mandarins).
Then an image of a Stern looking, arrogant and no nonsense woman emerges surrounded by GSU bodyguards. This woman is Martha Karua, the iron lady. She’s here to ensure Kivuitu declares Kibaki the winner.
Oops. Chaos erupts inside the tallying hall. Kivuitu is taken by GSU to a private room upstairs. Few minutes later, he appears on KBC declaring Kibaki as the winner of 2007 elections. You’re aghast, shocked and enraged. Before you say “what the f**k!”, KBC brings statehouse event at about 7.30.
Chief Justice Mr. Gicheru is administering oath of office for Kibaki. Tears drop down your cheeks. Kivuitu, who’s also present but you can’t tell how fast he traveled from KICC to statehouse says, “let me present the real certificate before someone comes with a fake one”. Another insult.
Camera moves and you see the same woman you saw at KICC, you ask yourself, isn’t that Martha Karua?
Finally, the gory memories of the events at KICC vanishes, you come back to your senses and you’ve to cast you’re vote. What will be your options?
