POLITICS is HARD BALL, Presidency Should Not Be DISHED OUT in BOARDROOMS, Proof Your Worth Musalia!

Talk is rife that Raila is fronting for Mudavadi to run for the highest office in the land. Our ears are being bombarded with news that Raila will endorse Mudavadi and reenact the 2002 scenario in favour of the ANC leader.

I want to posit that the PRESIDENCY is too important to be negotiated in boardrooms. Heck, even MOU’s are made and broken at will depending on the situation on the ground and the mitigating factors. It is therefore foolhardy and the height of naivety for any politician to ride on another’s popularity, acumen and organizational skills.

Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetangula should cut out a niche for themselves and stop looking up to Raila for endorsement. They should not bore us with the contents of an MOU that we were not privy to. Mudavadi and company should go out there and campaign. Even heaven is not for the faint hearted. ‘Since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent take it by force.

Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetangula should prove their mettle by traversing the length and breadth of the country, selling their policies and engaging with voters. They should not remain in their cocoons and expect Raila to do the donkey work for them. Nothing comes on a silver platter, certainly not the Presidency.

Mudavadi should learn from the 2013 debacle where he entered into an MOU with Uhuru, an agreement that was trashed and overturned in a matter of hours!

Mudavadi is too much of a gentleman to survive the rumble and tumble of Kenyan politics. He is weak and uninspiring. His constituency does not go beyond his native Vihiga County. In short he does not command the Luhya vote. His party is not affiliated to CORD, further complicating the equation. He should let Cord principles fight it out for the ticket and stop expecting to reap where he did not sow. He left ODM accusing Raila of dictatorship and political brinkmanship. Now he seeks his endorsement!
