ALERT! ‘Obomo Bwo Mogusii’ had no influence on the nomination of CJ designate David Maraga

Date:

Appellate judge Justice David Maraga Kenani was yesterday nominated by the Judicial Service Commission to serve Kenyans as the new Chief justice after the early retirement of Willy Mutunga.

Immediately after Justice Maraga’s nomination, a group of ODM rebels fraudulently claimed the bragging rights saying Maraga was picked as a result of their visit to State House.

The great people of Gusii should take caution that JSC is an independent constitutional body and not a political one. The post of Chief Justice is constitutional and not a political appointment.

The Judicial Service Commission is a totally independent body and does not work under the influence of the President. Therefore the claims by ‘Obomo Bwo’Mogusii’ founders is false and misleading.

Justice Maraga won the confidence of JSC on merit. He is religious, incorruptible and sober-minded judge whose judgement is not interfered with. He is a man of unquestionable morals and full of experience.

It is therefore wrong for them to go round claiming the credit they don’t deserve with an intention of hoodwinking voters on the ground.

‘Obomo Bwomogusii’ encompasses a group of political conmen whose intention is to take over the leadership of Kisii County by all means.

The great people of Gusiiland should reject these individuals led by Senator Kisii Chris Obure and former CIC chair Charles Nyachae as they come.
