RITE OF PASSAGE IlMESHUKI
Yesterday 7th Dec 2016 Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho was accorded a super warm reception in Narok county where he was the chief guest at a rite of passage pass out parade for the llmeshuki age set of the Maasai community near Suswa area in Narok County.
Governor Joho later led a harambee for women groups in Emurua Dikirr area where he was joined by Senator Gideon Moi, Governor Isaac Ruto, Hon Johana Ngeno, Hon Nik Salat, Hon. Kanchori Memusi, Hon. Gladys Wanga,Hon. Abdikadir Aden, and Ahmed Papa
The Coastal and Maasai communities share a similar history with regards to land. They say 2/3rds of Kenyan land is community land. The community land bill puts at risk communities control over their own land. I got the opportunity to explain this- Governor Joho posted on his Facebook page
I also got the opportunity to reaffirm Narok County’s support for the Orange party, ODM and our party leader Rt Hon Raila Amollo Odinga-Mombasa governor said.
