”We have NOTHING to CELEBRATE 53 Years after Independence”- Pastoral Communities Tell Uhuru

Date:

Today as a son of pastoralist, and a victim of systematic state marginalization,I have absolutely nothing to celebrate for the 50 years of independence more so the last 4 years under Jubilee Govt!

As if Jubilee’s Operation Usalama Watch was not enough of a targeted ethnic cleansing,in my former Province of NE mothers are grieving because, often, the corpses if their missing loved ones are discovered miles away from home discarded in bushes and partially devoured by wild animals;the victims of police extra judicial killings. Our Sheikhs cannot leave beards to grow because they fear suspicion, subsequent arrest or daylight executions!

Our roads are impassable Jubilee are putting the lives of pastoralist in danger in the name of Last Mile connectivity. They are connecting electricity to temporary grass thatched structures and masquerading it as a Vision 2030 project.

Jubilee has taken back the only immigration offices serving the entire region. The Government of Uhuru and Ruto are not releasing census for NE because our numbers show we are no longer a minority. They have taken court order to prevent release of census results meaning govt planning for NE is now being done using heavily supressed numbers – marginalization in another name. Jubilee wants the world to believe that Kenyan Somalis cannot be 2Million plus in Kenya! Oh God!

But you know what today am faking my happiness because Uhuru and Ruto have Just addressed their last Jamhuri day!
