Blogger Robbert Alai was on Friday arrested over social media postings he made on the death of a member of the Kenyatta family.
Alai,who after sharing the photos of the Kenyatta family members mourning at the Nairobi hospital, is said to have been arrested yesterday at around 4.30pm by CID officers and was locked up at Kamukunji police station.There were reports on social media on Wednesday that the the mother to Muhoho Kenyatta’s wife Erika, died at the Nairobi hospital.
Alai who was once a fierce government critic, had shift to the Jubilee camp and his recent posts have often been government friendly. Kenyans quickly to the social media demanding his freedom with the hash tag #FreeAlai trending on Saturday morning
