Thousands of Kenyans from Kisii and Nyamira Counties are at Nyamira and Keroka Law Courts in solidarity with the arrested youths from Keroka Town and its immediate environs. Senior Counsel Okongo Omogeni is leading the defense teams some who were dispatched by Prime Minister Raila Odinga from Nairobi.
Local leaders were forced to devide themselves into two groups with Governors Ongwae and Nyagarama joining the Keroka team while senator Prof Sam Ongeri, Hon Janet Ongera, Hon Ben Momanyi, Hon Timothy Bosire joined the Nyamira town team.
”It doesn’t make sense to have two similar cases running, its a waste of court’s precious time, the cases should have been merged and prosecuted as one as the charges are the same”- a lawyer representing the arrested youth complained.
