Meru governor H. E Peter Munya has ditched Uhuru’s Jubilee coalition for Raila NASA. The PNU leader was received officially into the NASA Pentagon by the Peoples’ president H E Raila Odinga, DP Kalonzo Musyoka and NASA Campaign manager Hon Musalia Mudavadi.
Governor Munya joins NASA as an equal co-principal and will lead Raila presidential campaigns in the larger Meru region.
Governor Munya in his brief address to media said he wanted to be on the right side of history, the immediate former chairman of council of Governors accused Jubilee of rigging him out in Meru governor elections and thanked the Judiciary for a sober and balanced ruling that has gone down as historic in Africa.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is a great day. It is a day when men and women with vision for this country have come together and ensure that we elect leaders with integrity within the next 60 days from the date of court ruling on 1st September 2017.
We are therefore very delighted today to welcome Governor Peter Munya into the NASA family together with all members of the Party of National unity which he has ably led for quite some time now.
We have had the pleasure and experience of being partners with the PNU in the Grand Coalition Government of 2008-2013. Together we moved mountains and we seem set to move them again.
Our vision for a united, democratic and prosperous Kenya has always been steadfast. Our commitment to realise this vision will be betrayed if we don’t win this coming election.
With the energy that governor Munya has, the faith that the people of Meru have shown in him because of his brilliant performance in the county and as Chair of the Council of Governors, we are sure that his team will greatly enrich our campaign.
We reiterate that the verdict delivered by the Supreme Court last Friday is a huge victory for democracy and the rule of law for the whole of Africa and not a personal triumph of the NASA candidate and the coalition.
We therefore call on all Kenyans of good will to hit the trail that the Supreme Court has laid out and ride the wave to a better Kenya by joining hands with all forces that are genuinely against impunity and electoral fraud.
We welcome Governor Munya as a Co-Principal in NASA.
