Mama Lucy died at a London hospital following a month-long ailment. Her body will arrive on Sunday, and three days of national mourning marked.
Dennis Onyango, Cord leader Raila Odinga’s spokesman, said the protests were postponed for the mourning. He called on Cord supporters to join other Kenyans in honouring Mama Lucy.
“Thereafter the protest will be held every Monday as had been announced earlier,” he said on Friday.
The opposition had vowed to stage protests every Monday at IEBC offices until their demands to have the commission reconstituted are met.
Raila said they will carry on with their agenda to have the electoral body disbanded, despite being dispersed by police using teargas on Monday.
