A clearing firm associated with Deputy President William Ruto has allegedly been awarded the tender to clear and store ballot boxes to be used in the August 8 elections, Kenya Today has sadly learnt.
The firm -Landmark Ltd- is also said to be the only firm clearing Jubilee campaign merchandise that is being sourced from China.
Sources have intimated to this writer that the merchandise: T-shirts, Caps, brochures, banners, leaflets and vehicle branding materials are ‘donations’ to Jubilee regime by a number of Chinese companies that have in the last four years been award billions worth of contracts by the Jubilee regime.
There is information, which we are in the process of independently verifying, to the effect that the Dubai firm at the center of the ballot printing scam – Al Ghurair – already shared with Jubilee samples of ballot papers which have already been printed locally.
Over the weekend, Jubilee Majority Leader Aden Duale opposed a move by IEBC to invite a number of observers to go to Dubai to inspect the ballot printing processes.
