Divisions within the Nairobi Central Business District Association displayed openly on Monday morning when factions in the moribund organization clashed in front of TV cameras.
Former Nairobi Governor hopeful Timothy Muriuki, who wants to take over the association was forced to flee from a press conference he had convened at Boulevard Hotel hotel on Monday morning.
Muriuki who was the convener of the press conference, had invited the media to defend Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko from cartels who are frustrating his efforts to restore the City’s lost glory. The goons who disrupted the press conference are linked to the former Nairobi governor and a senior civil servant based at Harambee house.
There are also reports that the anti-Sonko forces are out-doing each other literally in competition and that soon they may start fighting each other.
Muriuki is a former Nairobi governor hopeful in the 2017 election but his bid flopped after he failed to qualify for the Jubilee Party primaries.
