Word has it that Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is set to appoint a woman as his deputy. The woman to be appointed is not just any other woman, but is a true professional and a woman of impeccable character. Her name is Ms Agnes Kagure Kariuki.
Ms Kariuki is a distinguished scholar with a rich resume who doubles as a respectable business lady who files her tax returns with the taxman without fail. On this, I laud governor Sonko for remembering women and electing one of them after her exemplary performance during the vetting. Despite the fact that she is a youth, she beat heavyweights and the who is whos.
Having known and worked with Ms Kariuki, I can attest that she is the perfect fit to replace Igathe. She has an exceptional gift of the gab that promotes her communicatory skills. There is no doubt therefore, that her prowess in oratory will endear the County into the hearts of investors, just like it endeared her into the hearts of her business partners before.
I don’t agree with Sonko on many issues but on this one, he has my approval. I can go to sleep knowing that With Ms Kariuki as Deputy Governor, Nairobi County will never be the same.
