Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was on Thursday evening cleared by IEBC to vote for Nairobi Governor seat
Senator Sonko who has emerged favourite in the race immediately took on Governor Evans Kidero over his poor performance despite receiving billions of shillings from the national government for the last four years since 2013/2014 financial year when Nairobi County received Ksh9 billion from the National Treasury and collected nearly Ksh12 billion as revenue from city tax payers.
“Please tell me what has Kidero done with the billions he has received from national treasury since 2013. He should set aside 30% of the allocated funds towards for development projects as required by the law” said Senator Sonko after being cleared by IEBC at Kasarani area in Nairobi.
According to a latest opinion polls by Radio Africa Group Sonko would emerge victorious in the August 8 polls with 45% followed by Kidero with 35% and Peter Kenneth with 9%. Vocal controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna didn’t appear in the poll despite his frequent TV interviews
