Former Isukha Central MCA, Richard Muchesia, who is believed to have killed his wife and later himself, lived a flashy and flamboyant life.
It is reported that the lawmaker, who was a licensed gun-holder, would visit social spots in Kakamega Town, where he would show off his weapon.
He would enjoy his drinks, with the gun placed on the table.
It is alleged that the gun was what he used to shot his wife Florence Okwach, an Administration Police officer, before he turned it to himself.
“He used his own licensed gun, which we now have in our possession,” Kajiado North Sub-county Police Commander Joseph Mwika told Nation.
In 2013, when he won the Shinyalu parliamentary seat, Muchesia held a lavish and colorful party that left villagers astonished.
The party was attended by the late Nicholas Biwott, a former Cabinet Minister, who landed in the area in two helicopters.
The 42-year-old also owned a Toyata Land Cruiser V8, which most of his colleagues could only dream about.
The fateful incident happened in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.
“Investigations are still ongoing on why it happened, but we suspect the two had matrimonial differences,” the police commander noted.
