Kisumu senator Anyang’ Nyong’o has hinted on why ODM nominations have been marred with a lot of drama.

Speaking on a local TV on Saturday Nyong’o admitted that carrying out party nomination is not an easy task.He said that mismanagement of the nomination is not always done by party officials but the agents who assist in logistics of moving election materials from one point to another.

“ I have been the Secretary General of ODM and I am telling you for sure it is a difficult task to manage the agents. It is sometimes not really the mistake of party officials but the agents,” said Nyong’o.

Nyong’o also said that some candidates put a lot of pressure on the on the officials hence making their work difficult.

According to Nyong’o political parties are using agents who are not specialists but civilians who are trained to help carry the exercise. He also said that they are trained within the shortest time possible something that compounds the problem.

In addition, the Kisumu said that we should not blame the political parties because they don’t have the resources to carry the nominations. The senator also said that the parties are always working within a stipulated time and they have to adhere to the rules and regulations of the electoral body.

“From the outside, you can blame the political parties and say that they are messing but from the inside, I tell you the technology for running the party’s nominations is not easy,” added Nyongo.

On the other hand, Nyong’o said that some candidates who are naughty and they go to an extend of hiring goons, bribing election officials making the process to be messed up are also to blame.

Meanwhile, Nyog’o said that the party has drastic rules to deal with those politicians who bring a lot of drama during the nominations.
