NASA supreme leader Rt. Hon Raila Amollo Odinga was today accorded a warm reception by residents of Meru County.
Rt Hon. Odinga, alongside other prominent guests that included President Uhuru Kenyatta, attended the burial of former Finance minister Hon. Daudi Mwiraria.
Raila, in his typical best, tickled the thousands of mourners attending the burial when he narrated to the residents how he closely worked with former President Kibaki, Hon. Kiraitu Murungi and the late Mwiraria to deliver development in the region.
These remarks surprisingly caught Uhuru off-guard, his visible discomfort betraying him as he pensively listened to Raila wow the crowd.
In his speech, Raila revealed that all the roads Uhuru has been launching and re-launching was a brain child of the coalition government and used the occasion to praise the late Mwiraria for availing funds from treasury.
Unlike his predecessor, Raila didn’t mince his words and openly blamed Uhuru for constantly withholding funds and frustrating some regions when he succeeded Mwiraria as the new Finance Minister at the time. He said, it was those cheap beaureacracy by Uhuru that denied the Ameru development remarks that led to wild cheers and thunderous applause from the ecstatic crowd.
