Lawyer reveals why NASA is set to win its petition
Top city Lawyer Mr Nelson Havi has said that the opposition alliance NASA is set for a win in its petition to the Supreme Court to challenge the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the just concluded August 8th general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday, Havi said that the opposition has heavy evidence, which it has presented to the court, that is set to leave the defendant, national poll body IEBC tongue tied and lead to the opposion super alliance’s win.
“The petition is well grounded and the evidence beats the thresh hold. The alliance is set for a win and the IEBC will have a hard job defending itself before the bench,” said Havi.
He cited one of NASA’s claims that the national tallying center at Bomas had started receiving results even before the voting exercise was over on the voting day saying that this will deal the Wafula Chebukati-led commission a blow.
The bad ass lawyer also said that the commission failed to abide to the law in its vote result transmission process and said that irregularities in electoral forms is another issue that is set to hand the opposition an easy win and have its wishes granted by the Supreme Court
“The commission started announcing results in absence of some form 34As and Bs. The result transmission method was also contrary to the law since results were streaming direct from polling centers to Bomas while the law says that they must have passed through the constituency tallying center,” said Havi.
NASA has moved to court despite earlier promises that it would not do the same.It has maintained that it won the election.
